They had just poured water over a group of university students when the accident occurred on a university campus

Four firefighters have been injured when they were electrocuted while taking part in an ice bucket challenge.

Tony Grider, 41, and Simon Quinn, 22, were left with serious injuries when their truck got too close to power cables outside Campbellsville University where they were helping students take part in the challenge.
They had just completed the challenge to pour water on the marching band when the accident occurred injuring two firefighters in the bucket of the ladder and two on the fire engine.
Fire officer Girder, who has been in the fire service for 16 years, was in a critical condition while Quinn was described by police chief Tim Hazlette as being stable.
Steve Marrs, 37, and Alex Johnson, 28, were both treated for injuries but later discharged.

Michael Carter, president of the university, told WHAS-TV : "What appears to be a very good event has had a very tragic turn. "A number of our students, of course, the entire marching band, witnessed the event and so we’re concerned about them and the tragedy of this accident. "We certainly want to co-operate as fully as possible so that there is full disclosure as to what took place." It is not believed that the ladder actually touched the power line, but it is possible that it got too close. Speaking about Grider, fellow firefighter Keith Bricken said: "He's real outgoing. He loves to help in any way he can. He told the New York Post that Girder had worked for the fire service for three years.
