Lion-hearted Han Bingbing had already undergone six courses of chemotherapy. Her medical bills were covered by donations from wellwishers

Han Bingbing
A 12-year-old girl has undergone surgery to remove a 15kg tumour from her stomach.

The abdominal growth in Han Bingbing was later diagnosed as an ovarian teratoma. It was first spotted in 2009 and has grown steadily ever since.
In January, Han started having difficulty walking and breathing. Last month, it filled nearly her whole abdomen, making it look as if she were grotesquely pregnant.

But it was gradually causing her internal organs to collapse and something had to be done.
She underwent eight hours of surgery at the Fuda Cancer Hospital in Guangzhou, China. Chief surgeon Li Han said the tumour was the biggest he had ever seen.
Han had undergone six courses of chemotherapy but the teratoma continued growing. Her medical fees have been covered by donations from well-wishers.
Earlier this month, we reported surgeons removed what they believe is the world's largest tumour from a man in Beijing, China.

By the time Yang Jianbin, 37, got to hospital for surgery, the growth on his lower back weighed an incredible 110kg (17st).
The removal surgery involved 9 doctors and took 16 hours, during which Yang received more than 5000ml of blood, which is more than the entire amount an adult's body holds.
Yang is now recovering well and it expected to be discharged later this month.
